The Council of Entrepreneurs cooperating with the Ombudsman for Small and Medium-sized Entrepreneurs
is an advisory and consultative body to the Ombudsman. It ensures permanent and direct contact between the Ombudsman and the business community.
The Council of Entrepreneurs consists of organisations of employers and entrepreneurs, as well as non-governmental, social and professional organisations the statutory objectives of which include the protection of entrepreneurs’ rights.
Tasks of the Council of Entrepreneurs:
- supporting the Ombudsman in activities to defend the rights of Polish entrepreneurs;
- monitoring the situation of entrepreneurs in the SMEs sector;
- diagnosing problems and responding to cases that require intervention of the Ombudsman;
- providing opinions on and drafting bills that directly affect the SMEs sector.
Opinions issued by the Council of Entrepreneurs concern:
- draft legal acts related to the interests of entrepreneurs and the principles of commencing, performing or terminating economic activities in the territory of Poland;
- submitting motions to request a legislative initiative, issue or amend other legal acts in matters related to business activities;
- the state of observance of entrepreneurs’ rights in the territory of the Republic of Poland, including the principle of freedom of economic activity;
- educational and informational actions related to the performance of economic activities on the territory of Poland, in particular in the field of entrepreneurship and economic law.
